Courier jobs

E-bike for a courier: rent or buy?

Buying looks cheaper because you pay once. But a courier’s bike works several hours a day and breaks down more often — and every day in the workshop is a day without earnings.

What your own bike costs

  • Paying upfront — a bike that can handle courier work costs several thousand złoty.
  • Repairs and parts: pads, tyres, tubes, chain, and in time the battery and motor parts.
  • Downtime: while the bike is in the workshop, you are not riding — unless you have a second one.
  • Theft risk — e-bike insurance is a separate cost.

What renting costs

From 170 zł a week or from 730 zł a month. Included: service, charger, lock, phone holder and a replacement bike while yours is repaired.

Over a long period you pay more, but you do not tie up money at the start and you do not lose working days to breakdowns.

When each one pays off

  • Renting — at the start, while you do not know yet whether courier work is for you, and when you do not have the money to buy upfront.
  • Renting — if you do not want to deal with repairs yourself and every working day matters to you.
  • Buying — if you have been riding for a long time, know you are staying for years, and have somewhere to get the bike fixed fast.
  • Buying — if you can do small repairs yourself and have a spare battery.

Common questions

Can I rent first and buy my own later?

Yes, and it is a common path: a few months of renting show how much you ride and what bike you need. Once you buy your own, you can have it serviced with us.
