Regular bike
The cheapest start and a fair choice for short shifts in the centre. On a full shift, uphill and into the wind it wears you out fast — and that is several hours a day, all week.
Electric bike
The most common choice for city couriers. A bike whose assistance works only while you pedal and cuts out at 25 km/h is legally a bicycle: no licence, no registration, and you ride on bike paths.
The battery matters most. For a full shift you need a large capacity or a second battery to swap.
Scooter
Faster on long routes, but you need the right category of driving licence, registration and OC insurance. On top of that, fuel and servicing.
Car
Gives you range and keeps you dry in the rain, but in the city centre it loses time in traffic and parking. Fuel, insurance and paid parking zones add to the cost.
Own or rented
Your own e-bike is an upfront cost, and repairs are on you. Renting costs every week, but service and a replacement bike are included — a breakdown does not cost you a working day.
At the start, while you do not yet know whether courier work is for you, renting is safer: your money is not frozen in equipment.
Need a bike for work?
An electric bike with service and a replacement bike included — from 170 zł a week.
Common questions
Do I need a licence for an electric bike?
No, if the bike meets the rules for a bicycle: the assistance works only while you pedal and cuts out at 25 km/h.
How long does the battery last?
It depends on the model, the rider’s weight and the weather. Every model in the catalogue lists its range and riding time on one battery.
