What we check
- Brakes: pads, rotors, cables or fluid, the motor cut-off sensor.
- Wheels: spokes, truing, bearings, tyres and pressure.
- Drivetrain: chain, sprockets, derailleur.
- Electrics: connectors, cables, display, lights.
- Battery: the voltage of every cell group — you can see if one is weakening.
- Bolts and mounts: handlebar, stem, rack, phone holder.
How often
If you ride daily — once a month, and check brakes and tyres yourself weekly. If you ride a few times a week, a check-up each season is enough.
After winter a check-up is a must: salt and moisture destroy the chain, connectors and bearings faster than a whole year of riding.
Renting a bike from us?
Then we do the check-ups, included in the rent. This page is for your own bike.
Common questions
How long does a check-up take?
It depends on the bike’s condition. If something needs replacing, we tell you what and for how much — and replace it only with your OK.
